Back Tracking

So I posted a while ago that we moved from Provo to Des Moines. Well, we got to Des Moines, and three days later we were back on the road for another 16 hours. We went to Athens, Georgia for a family reunion on Reid's dad's side of the family. It is the first family reunion that I remember going to and it was a fun-filled three days. The first day we went to Uncle Curry and ViAnne's house and played in the pool and had a yummy potluck dinner.

Abigail loved going down the water slide and playing with G.G. (Great Grandma Johnson).

The next day we tubed the Chattahoochee River and then played a really fun family trivia game. I don't remember who won, but it was awesome getting to know the extended family better.

The last day was a scavenger hunt of important places that Craig and his brother and sisters used to go to when they were little. It was really fun. I am really glad that we got to see Reid's cousins that we haven't seen in a long time. Chelsea took some family photos for us. Thanks so much again!!

After the reunion we headed to Anniston, Alabama to Grandmommy and Granddaddy's house. We spent almost a week there and helped Sarah work on her salon. We got a lot done, and it was just awesome to be able to help and be able to see the progress that has been made in person. While we were there, we to a hole in the wall restaurant called The Ark and had some good fried fish and even tried FROG LEGS! Yup I tried some and surprisingly it wasn't too bad. We were sad to leave, but we had to make it back home. On the way home we stopped at the St. Louis Zoo (it was free!) but didn't stay long because, one we wanted to get home and two, it was extremely hot and humid! And that was our fun trip. It was really nice to actually have a vacation to relax and not have to get back for work or school.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures as much as we enjoyed our trip!

Iowa State Fair

This past Friday we had a blast at the Iowa State Fair. Abigail had her first bus ride and was really good at staying in her own seat without a seat belt. She felt all grown up. We went with a couple of friends and we all tried some fair food (some of it not so good). Reid got deep fried Oreos and they actually weren't that bad, but I didn't get a picture of it (Sorry). We didn't spend a long time at the fair, but we definitely made our way to the baby farm animals and Abigail loved that! We also saw (from a distance) the butter cow and all the prize winning vegetables. We really had a good time and lucky for us Abigail was actually well behaved. Here are some pictures, hope you enjoy!

I forgot to take pictures!!

I am so mad at myself! Yesterday Reid started orientation at Des Moines University and they had a BBQ for all the students and students' families and I was going to bring my camera. I forgot! It was about a half hour before we left that I realized I forgot it. Anyway I'll try to tell about it.
We got to school and saw they had TONS of tables and chairs all over, I mean any where there was grass there was a table and there is lots of grass. The food was really good, it was just burgers and chicken burgers, but it was so good! They also had these little dessert cups that were delicious! We sat at first by ourselves because we got there a little early hoping to save spots for a few people we know. A girl that Reid interviewed with back in November sat with us along with a family from our ward. When the family left I saw our neighbors across the hall (the husband is a second year and they have been super awesome at letting us know what to expect and being our friends right from the start), so I went to sit with them. Reid joined me and we met another first year family from Arkansas who had a little 19 month old boy who liked to tackle Abigail. It was really funny, he is a few inches shorter than her and lighter too, but he would just put his arms around her and lean forward and they would fall. She kinda got mad, but they played pretty well together. Our neighbors have a 4 year old girl and she, Abigail and the little boy found tubs of ice that drinks were in, and they played with the ice and thought it was the coolest thing ever. haha, sorry I couldn't resist. It was time to go home and Abigail got a big bunch of balloons that were going to be thrown away. Then we went to bed.
Again sorry there were no pictures, I am still mad, but it was really fun.
However here is a picture of how we found Abigail before we went to bed last night. I was hoping I wouldn't wake her up I was laughing so hard!

We've moved!

If you didn't already know, we moved to IOWA! We sold all of our furniture minus our bed, and Abigail's cribs, and our table (that one mainly because we couldn't sell it). We got a 6x12 trailer because it saved us hundreds of dollars than getting a truck and driving our car along with it. As we were gathering all of our stuff to be put in the trailer the days prior to moving, we got really nervous thinking we weren't going to fit it all. You never fully realize how much you actually have until you have to box it all up. My dad flew out to help us with the drive. The drive was supposed to be 16 hours, but it ended up being a lot longer because between Utah and Wyoming, we were only able to push our car to 40 miles going up the steep grades of the mountain. I was a happy camper with the speed (max of 60 w/ the trailer) and Abigail was a GREAT rider. We bought a portable DVD player and we watched "puppies" 101 Dalmatians like 5 times a day. We stopped two nights at hotels and let Abigail play in the pool. We arrived in Des Moines Iowa on the 1st of July and left a few days later for the Johnson family Reunion, but that is another post. Here are some pictures of the trip!

Not Dead

So I promise we are not dead.
Our move to Iowa went very well, for those of you who know how I travel, I was very comfortable (minus pulling a trailer). We spent 3 days in our new place and back on the road we went. We are currently visiting Reid's grandparents in Alabama. I forgot the camera cord to put pictures up. My dad is working on our computer, and hopefuly when we get back, I will be posting a lot. Abigail has been great traveling in the car thankfully.
Anyway, we are not dead and will be posting when we get back home.
